Thank goodness that opposition parties expressed their disgust at the blatant attempt by Johnson to protect one of his own from justifiable sanctions and shame on those that followed his instructions.

This morning however, the decision to change the rules has been reversed and another vote is likely on whether to suspend.

Let’s hope that our locally elected MP’s will respond to that vote morally, reflecting the views of the public at large who are generally incensed by the blatant, devious and underhand tactics of this government.

DEFRA have today published a map showing the complete extent of the exclusion zone and issued guidance to all of the U.K. because this is not the only outbreak that has been currently detected.

I would have thought that it was blindingly obvious why the map only shows the exclusion zone extending to the Welsh/English border.
The Welsh Government and in particular, the Chief Veterinary Officer only have control of matters that affect Wales.
I would expect that the CVO’s English counterpart has been informed and it would be up to him/her to complete the circle for the English section of the affected area.
Mind you, I thought about the reasons why before passing comment or making erroneous assumptions.

I’ve responded to the survey and commented almost identically to Jimbow.
I’m not holding my breath though that the likely overwhelming comments on social media or indeed in the survey itself opposing the idea of City status, will ever see the light of day.

Somehow, by smoke and mirrors, certain quarters will manage to put a positive spin on the results and proceed regardless.

I fail to see or understand how city status would be beneficial to Wrexham because all that it would do, would be in name only with the additional costs passed onto the long suffering residents of the Borough.

Councillor x, I totally agree with Carrie Harper and the sentiment she expressed
As the old saying goes – ‘A good young one will beat a good old one any day of the week.

I’m not a fan of Plaid Cymru by any stretch of the imagination but Carrie Harper as an individual, makes a very valid point and I congratulate her on that.

I am myself a senior citizen but would like to think that I open to progression and change for the better, many on the Council are not, and yes, I do think that age plays a major factor in that.

I have watched how the Council has degenerated from a democratic organisation where every individual Councillor had an equal and meaningful contribution to make, to what can best be described as an oligarchy where decisions are made by a chosen few like minded individuals.

I see no chance of collective ownership of decisions made whilst this style if governance is tolerated.

Perhaps her statement should give us all food for thought and seriously think about who we elect as our representatives in 2022.
Only then, if we have a clear out of those who think their position is safe for as long as they desire, will we be able to say ‘Yes, I can support that’ when decisions are handed down that affect all our lives.

“True independents have never belonged to any party.”

If that is the case, how is it that that there are two independent groups on the Council? Surely that shouldn’t even be possible!!

    Definition:
    1. Not affiliated with or loyal to no one political party or organisation.
    2. Free from the influence, guidance, or control of another or others; self reliant.

It’s nice to see that there are no ‘independent’ candidates standing for election. To my mind, independents are neither fish nor fowl and go with whichever way the wind blows.
Independents have been in recent years the architects of the towns downfall and the cause of the many shortfalls in services that a Council is obligated to provide.
I sincerely hope that at the next full Council election, the electorate in all wards vote for whichever party they favour to rid us all of the majority of independent Councillors who hoodwinked their wards by changing their allegiance so rapidly after appointment.

Rondetto, wrong on so many counts!
    a) Henblas St from Chester St has been no entry like since……. forever.
    b) Henblas St has been one way from by the sports shop as long as I can remember.
    c) The ‘Pedestrians only’ sign I think you refer to is a temporary one on an adjacent street (Lambpit St) probably placed there because of the Monday market.

As far as disabled access/ parking is concerned, they do have the right to park at certain times but that facility is abused beyond measure.

Not entirely sure what the whole point of your post is.
