April 7, 2022 at 2:35 pm in reply to: Increase Councillor Pay by 16.9% and get better candidates #217581
BenjaminMParticipantI despise candidates who put themselves forward standing on an Independent ticket to be selected as a Councillor and once elected, join an Independent group.
To me, to do that, defies all morality and trust.Same goes for recognised party candidates who, at a whim, jump ship and join the Independent gravy train.
Wrexham will never amount to anything whilst there is no effective opposition and how can there be when recognised procedures and practices are tossed out by (and I use the term advisedly) a ‘select’ few?
BenjaminMParticipantBB,just to correct you yet again……
I have never disparaged anyone from Caia Park and your assertion that I have, is yet another figment of your imagination.
Your comments are about as relevant as the TV programme of the same name as your pen name.
Stick to facts. I don’t think that blue sky thinking is your forte.
BenjaminMParticipantBigbrother, before you pass comment about anyone’s ability to understand, maybe you read the text of the report properly before making an ar*e of yourself.
The report explicitly states that the hole was IN the residents garden. Got it now?
Not your finest moment, eh BB?
BenjaminMParticipant“First Minister ‘not aware’ of the issue 12 months later”
Why would he be? That’s what Ministers of their respective departments are for.!!
Confirmation of a north/south divide? Get real!!!

BenjaminMParticipantCaptainC, when I saw your name, I thought Llay would figure in it somewhere!!

BenjaminMParticipantPlanning Committee/ common sense? Surely in all sincerity you cannot believe those two terms are compatible, can you?

BenjaminMParticipantI don’t believe for one second that appointees aren’t ‘up to the job’.
Rather, the fault lies with many elected Members who aren’t up to the job.
Taking planning as an example – Officers diligently apply codes of practice and legal requirements to applications equitably, only for their recommendations to be either stifled or overturned by Members based on nothing more than a whim.
There appears to be no coherent strategy and that, in my opinion, is why we are all being failed by local governance.
BenjaminMParticipantMy God, I can think of a multitude of more pressing problems in Wrexham town centre than a few bins left out on the street.
I’d rather that than the reprobates hanging round on every street corner.November 8, 2021 at 9:10 am in reply to: My personal views on why I believe a city status bid would be good for Wrexham #211183
BenjaminMParticipantVery interesting to read the ‘personal’ views of Cllr Wynn regarding the benefits of applying for city status but it seems to reflect the views already expressed by other members of the ‘Independent’ parties of WCBC.
Would it be remiss of me to entertain the possibility that his quite well written missive was decided in a caucus of like minded Councillors?
BenjaminMParticipantJustice has been done!!
Owen Paterson has resigned as an MP it has been announced.
That certainly lets Atherton and Baynes off the hook as they will no longer have to show their true colours.
