During his visit to the Cubs group, Mr Baynes discussed his life and work as the local Member of Parliament before taking questions from the group on a variety of topics.

Mr Baynes, speaking after meeting the group, said: “It was a great pleasure to visit the 1st Overton Cubs to discuss my life and work as the Member of Parliament for Clwyd South.

“I was exceptionally impressed with the excellent questions asked by the Cubs.

“I wish to thank their Cub Section Lead Volunteer Mark Sayer for inviting me and it was great to meet Erin Sayer, Lowri Hughes and David Huyton, who also help with the 27 Cubs – we owe so much to these volunteers for their care and leadership of the Cubs.

“What a happy and inspiring evening it was!”
