IMHO – if you look at the Job Description which all prospective MPs should have read before standing for election — how many people apply for a job without first reading what they must do if appointed. I will accept the argument that someone who is new needs to learn but we are now nearly three months in– so they should be ticking boxes — not sure that is the case for the two representatives in Wrexham– perhaps there may be more tick in 6 months.

Also I am not aware that MPs get a trainee salary as part of a six month induction period before collecting their full remuneration aren’t they expected to hit the ground running. Time will tell!

There will be some hirendoouz accidents if the weather starts to freeze – there are so many puddles, floods that those walking will end up with broken bones and those in cars bumbs all over.
Wait for massive claims against the Council… who will pay — this of us who are ratepayers..

There are some factual errors creeping into this thread-
    1. The number of unemployed even if they could start work would take a number of years to be trained and longer to get to a standard that can do the job.
    2. Unemployment levels are the lowest for many years
    3. The number of people heading towards retirement in the care sector means there are 20,000 new carers required in Wales in the next 5 years
    4. The assumption that many foreign workers have come in and taken the jibs from British is crazy — lots of the jobs they do no British person would get out of bed to do.

The point is that the other MP rep for the county is also not visible. He covers a big area of the county so why is he not making contact.

Will I get bonus points if the proposed new school becomes a combined Catholic and Anglican Primary school which would be an obvious feeder then into St Joseph’s Secondary which is one of the (if not the best) one in Wrexham Town. St Joseph’s went due faith with a combined fincial package- part funding from the Church in Wales- Wrexham Education Fund that has over £14 million and due for more funding going into it when the LDP is signed off as thy still own lots of land on Holt Road and Cefn Road.
St Marys will have cash injection from the sale of their land on Pen Y Bryn so there are various fincial combinations and education reasons why the nine-acre project could be good for the children of Wrexham who are being let down in failing Secondary Schools.

The announcement this week that the Council have a plan to improve education in secondary schools in the next two years-what a disgrace that our young people have endured a failing secondary school system for the past 10 years with schools dipping in and out of Special Measure and they still need to wait two years. How many of our Young People have been through these schools over the past 10 years and never achieved their full potential.

Fully support the Nine Acre project but a big black mark against the Education Department for failing our young people.

Not St Mary’s Brymbo but St Mary’s Roman Catholic School on Pen-y-Bryn.
St. Mary’s had rejected the Groves site so it could be a toss up between Rhosddu and St Mary’s to move onto the Nine Acre.

What the figures don’t show are how long some of the other debts had been outstanding before they were paid- lost interest and lost use of the money for other projects.

As the system of collecting debts is so poor in one Department it is probably the same in others — wonder if the Council are prepared to put out a figure showing the total level of debt from all services and how much are they really writing off each year-

At least Ian Lucas had an office and local staff doing casework –
Layby Lilly – where is Sarah Atherton office — how many local caseworkers does she have and where do they hide- as an MP she has the funds for a local office and team — has she been drawing this from day one?
Holding a ‘surgery; in the open in the middle of Wrexham cannot be defined as a community surgery session!
She needs to wake up to the issues of Devolution — why is she speaking with the Westminster Health Minister when Health is devolved to Welsh Government – they are the ones that are failing and need to be brought to account – a Westminster Health Mister can do nothing.
She wants to set up a Town Business Forum — why on earth can’t she engage with the existing groups rather than thinking she needs her own!
Can someone please let me know where I can find out about when and where her surgery sessions are held as there is nothing on her web site!

Interesting points but when do Councillors ever give serious questions to officers over content — when the names are presented in the name of a Lead Council Member then it becomes claer that it will go through on the nod due to the numbers on the ruleing Executive.
It would be good to see more Scrutiny to questions these levels of misinformation reports that are written from the persepctive of what will be the end message and then work backwards to put bits of info together to create the story .
