DerekJacksonParticipantIf you ever find yourself in the unfortunate position of being in one of these long wait ambulances and talk with the paramedics you will realise that there are many solutions right under the nose of the management (both ambulance and Hospital)and that is talk to your staff. Get down to the doors of A & E and look for yourself to see what is really happening and the impact that waiting has not only on the patients but in the morale of excellent staff.
Management need to be at the front line and explain to patients and family members why they are not getting the appropriate attention.
Ambulance management should remove the warning signs in A & E informing their dedicated staff they only have 15 minutes to pass a patient over to the hospital even though there may not be any staff to do a transfer. Do the management really think their staff are wasting time hanging around — from what I have see on a few occasions they want out as soon as possible and there is no need for such warning signs.
DerekJacksonParticipantIf the Executive Leadership of the Council changes when will the electorate find out who’s who and what their personal credentials are to take on their new roles.
If we have to put up with a group of ‘new’ Leaders then we the electorate at least have the right to have some idea who they are, how they perform in their own communities and what their employment experience has been in the past that will be relevant to their new roles. As this may not be forthcoming perhaps contributors to this thread may be able to enlighten us all what to expect!
DerekJacksonParticipantDon’t know about five/ten years time there are all sorts of issues affecting communities now. Looking at the report going to Council Executive next week there are even more cuts to community services in 2015/16.
Groups are already struggling to raise funds to keep going – it is harder now to raise a £1000 than what it was a few years ago.
There is more need than ever for people in communities to band together if we want to keep any form of community spirit with everything from a Playgroup to a Senior Citizens club,
DerekJacksonParticipantThey are both on anchor tenancy agreements so not paying full cost – I wonder how long they would stay if it was a full rental agreement
DerekJacksonParticipantDoes anyone know how you can take a ‘Class Action’ against a business — this is when there are large numbers of people with the same issue collectively putting forward a legal claim. This type of mass action can normally generate a wake up call in the Executive offices. Wonder of Wrexham.Com should highlight this as something we are proposing in Wrexham. The fact that they have already allowed some people to cancel contracts and acknowledged to others there is a problem,

DerekJacksonParticipantOne of the key things with this type of pedestrian crossing is that it means anyone with a push chair or bike is able to use the crossing. What perhaps could be done is to have an alarm of some kind as a warning that a training is coming.
My understanding (please correct me if I am wrong) was not that the children involved were on the crossing but that they were further down the track in an area that they should not have been walking. If this was the case then they could be prosecuted for trespass – perhaps this is what is required to make an example of children who clearly not only put themselves at risk but also passengers and in particular the driver of the train who could end up going through a life changing trauma if he had hit them.
DerekJacksonParticipantThis makes interesting reading with only Bob Dutton and Carole O’Tool being 100% attendance and couple more with missing 1 or 2 meetings — some as low an as 50%. I will not make any sweeping comments as there nay be personal reasons beyond their control for non attendance.
I wonder how this would change if it was a lower allowance and payment by attendance. The other measure of participation of your local Councilor is not just how many meetings but how many have they participated in
DerekJacksonParticipantI wonder if the management failings for the bins is due to the recent Departure of John Bradbury as Chief Environmental officer responsible for this work — bins have now been ‘absorbed’ under another manager, ultimately all process and operational failings are down to management and in no way those guys who are out in all weathers doing the collections. This was not an issue out of the Blue the Leader and Chief Executive knew a couple a weeks ago about the day of action.
DerekJacksonParticipantBenjamin — please provide the link
Also does anyone know what the minimum attendance is to still qualify as surly there must be something — they can’t be kept in as a member if there is no attendance.
DerekJacksonParticipantPhil
Many thanks for this and good to see that you have entered into this process pity about your 30 plus colleagues–..
It s also a pity that this info is not made know to the electorate it was a chance look at next weeks Scrutiny papers I came across this item.
I also think the Council should produce a matrix showing attendance. -
