I think the land is now owned by CR & GM Woollam & son (Agriculture) Limited and the company has a poultry farm in Oswestry.

The reason? Because the consultant has a more specialised understanding of that particular condition. It is the same with Council staff who, from the dissenters amongst you are expected to be all singing and dancing creatures. Get real!

Chief Executive who’s salary is between £109,000 and £125.000 per year.

3 directors who’s salary in 2012 ( unable to find an up to date amount) was between £90,00 and £96,000 per year.

8 heads of departments who’s salary in 2012 was between £73,000 and £83,000.

12 employees with salaries totalling over £1 million per year. I am amazed that we are paying these excessive salaries and yet they still need to use consultants as often as they do!

For that price they should be all singing all dancing!

So BenjaminM let’s look at the Public open space assessment which was awarded to a consultancy firm in Bury. Do you seriously think this firm is going to cover every square inch within the borough of wrexham looking for open space and be able to deliver the information within 4 months? Do you not think the most simple and cost effective method would be to ask the community councils to submit the public open space within their ward?

It’s not always about expertise, sometimes a bit of common sense is all that’s needed.

Is it because chief officers are too scared of getting things wrong? If consultants are hired the officers can claim they made the mistake not them? If this is the case why not just get rid of chief officers altogether?

Maybe a freedom of information request to find out how much of taxpayers money has actually been used on consultants in recent years is in order?

This is all we seem to hear in Wrexham and surrounding areas at the moment, proposed housing developments on green fields. We need to fight tooth and nail to save our open spaces.

Residents beware coming to a green field near you soon!

Bringing in consultants for one off pieces of work from a business perspective would be fine — Wrexham Council however use them as a matter of course for virtually everything.

Very true council watcher. WCBC are using a firm based in Bury it seems to carry out Wrexham’s public open space audit and assessment.

I wonder what senior management in Wrexham council actually do? Do they not know how much public open space there is within Wrexham? Why not just ask local council members to submit the public open space within their ward?

    Yet more taxpayers money wasted!

Surely she cannot carry on teaching after this! She knew what she was doing and using the excuse of needing money is absurd.
Teachers hold a position of trust and responsibility and pupils must be able to view teachers as role models in the way they behave.
This will have a negative effect on the pupils, parents, work colleagues and the school due to the media coverage.

Andy Lewis (head of housing) said in June last year there was a public open space assessment currently being undertaken. It seems this was not the case.

The contract was not published until December. Not only lies but yet more taxpayers money wasted on consultants that are not needed. Why not just ask the community councils to submit their own public open spaces? Instead it seems a company in Bury was awarded the contract.

I wonder how much that cost us?

The event was very well organised by Georgia and was managed well by Rob Shelley. I would like to have heard more of what Ian Lucas’ vision of the future would be rather than taking the opportunity to blame the coalition government for the last 5 years! At one point Andrew Atkinson did actually challenge Ian Lucas to answer a question without including the words Tory or Lib Democrats.

Remember last years fiasco when 10 labour councillors resigned from the party and jumped into bed with the independents? Not one of them had the decency to call a re-election. This time my vote will be for the person, not the party they associate themselves with.
