I notice that planning permission has been now granted for the development of flats on an ‘infill’ plot on part of the park off Jeffreys Road – what a shame. The lovely wide park entrance leading to the tennis courts will now become a footpath and the remainder four flats. A beautiful willow tree will also be lost. According to the planning decision, this is ok because it is only 0.4% of the park area that will developed – this won’t be the case if this sets the precedent for continually eroding it.

This is all we seem to hear in Wrexham and surrounding areas at the moment, proposed housing developments on green fields. We need to fight tooth and nail to save our open spaces.

Residents beware coming to a green field near you soon!
