Really glad that you are back on line and not being gagged– best of luck with your 200 page Executive Report- I read most on Thursday and got lost with a lot of the excessive detail that is included . The length of these reports is becoming ridiculous and clearly needs to be addressed at one of our Chair of Scrutiny meetings in the near future.

I’ve been told that Clr Wynn has been reprimanded by the Leader and other members of the Independents because he dared to start this thread. I hope this is not the case – I might not agree with some of his views but admire him for bringing the issue into the public domain- he hasn’t however made any posts to respond on this thread since the 6th.
Can Wrexham.com get a statement from Clr Wynn?

Maureen — having paid a Million Pound to read the reports produced by mangers who had already presented budget savings and then to badge them as their work surly is double funding for the same work. To pay to implement the work the mangers are already paid for again is a double funding. Sorry can’t see the logic

Within the corridors of ‘Power’ in the Council 70/30 is the ratio that has been mentioned.
ie for every million pounb saved the Council retain £700k and the consultants are paid £300k
Some of you may remember that this type of contract had been awarded to the consultant involved in the Leisure Review prior to the closure of Plas Madoc had a similar agreement. Clr David Griffiths denied this was the case in the Council Chamber then a copy of the contract letter was produced and he then had to back peddle and stated that that particular element of the contract was no longer applicable.
I rest my case regarding transparency — either all Council Members are colluding in this exercise or the level of ignorance is far deeper than one would expect.
Do these actions really give the public any confidence in the Council Members and Executive Officers being able to maintain a stand alone Council.

Who is trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the people in Wrexham– why can’t WCBC be honest about the contract that they have with PcW. On the Sell to Wales web site there is confirmation that the Council awarded PcW a contract for £1 million in July for a LEAN Management.

Why are the Council being selective in what goes into the Public domain via the local media- surely all residents should have the whole picture.

How can the Leader of the Council state Wrexham is big enough and capable of managing it’s own affairs when the reality is they are spending vast sums of money on things that any good management team should be doing. If the existing management team are not capable of budget management and savings then they surely are not capable of managing a Wrexham only Council.
Over to you Clr Wynn and Clr Hugh Jones who we know read these threads – what is your response!!

Congratulation to Clr Wynn for bring this debate to the fore — it is such a pity that your fellow Councilors who read these threads and very occasionally comment have not added anything to the debate. The absence of these other faceless Councilors is highlighting the level of uncertainty or the unwillingness to raise their head above the parapet.
If there is such an issue about the possible name of the new area why did Wrexham Council not put a marker down for managing Greater Wrexham.

Will servuie providers and the Council Contact Centre also open up for a late night session– it needs a total town opening for it to work

It would be good if Wxm.com can get an interview with the new Leader to ask about his credentials to be the Leader. What experience has has had in the past to take on the management of the Council and how he can use his experience to benefit Wrexham. If I remember he was unopposed at the last election so limited information about his background.
The selection process that Councils operate to appoint their leadership flys in the face of all employment recruitment process. How many other jobs are appointed in Wrexham (or other Counties) with a salery of £40k plus which relies on how many ‘friends’ you have in a meeting to get the vote!!

Oh dear Locallad doesn’t appear that you have ever spoken to any of the people connected with these problems. I am not against your comment about being a disgrace but lots of these are not from Wxm — is there evidence anywhere for this? Free services- do you also feel that no one should get a food parcel from the Foodbank?
Perhaps the solution is to stop providing ANY support and these people will move to another town.. Surely a lot of these services are about rehabilitation as well to make them have a person value in themselves to play a part in society.
This still does not tackle the route cause of how did they get into this position in the first place.

Is the Parish Church offering Christian fellowship and help by opening the doors of the church to allow people in this unfortunate state to seek refuge and support– What about the story of the good Samaritan!
