They will probably build yet more student flats.

I was told (no names) that there was a tunnel from Church Street towards the Gwenfro river. Also someone mentioned air raid shelters under somewhere near the Halifax bank or Smiths.

I agree with what ClaireRob6 says. They let most of our heritage go to rack & ruin as well when a small repair done early would save a huge one later.
The only reason that I haven’t clicked on ‘no’ is because until we have replacements, this is what we are left with. More people need to stand for election so that they need to fight for their places.

Personally I would choose Councillor Kings pride & joy Venture for closure 100% over Plas Madoc. How many children travel from Rhos, Penycae, Cefn Mawr, New Broughton, Pentre Broughton to use the Venture facilities, whereas people from many of those places use the swimming facilities. Would the people who would build the sometime, never State of the Art replacement pool, be the same people who provided the cheaper option over private consultancy?

Living on the outskirts of town on small part time wage, after working out how long I had to work to pay for the bus fare into town I was too mean to use my wages for that purpose so I walked in everyday. As years went by & time was more of the essence, I used to park up by the old Asda on Eagles Meadow for 30p for the day. Happy days. I didn’t count the cost of petrol however. Seeing children off to school & starting work in town at the same time meant that you had to get everything down to a fine art.

Do we know a percentage of people who actually pay rent. It isn’t fair to tenants who do pay rent to have to cover those who don’t. The same goes for council tax.

The new roofs and solar panels will eventually pay for themselves over time and then make a profit for WCBC.

Seems to me that it will take a long time to pay for itself at £1m per year if a £60m loan was obtained to pay for them.
