It was reported that the Council borrowed £60 million to cover the cost of the solar panels and their installation on the basis that they would generate £1 million income per year for 25 years!

That doesn’t seem to me to be a very good return on £60m. Doesn’t that mean that they would be down £35m plus interest? Not being a mathematician, am I reading it wrong?

The seats are very cold too. I agree about the signs. If you don’t know which bus to catch the time table isn’t very informative.

Perhaps Wrexham as a town should all be demolished and atarted again from scratch. The town evolved over a long period of time. We can never replace what has been destroyed. We will never get a new swimming pool unless we get into lots of debt which will need repaying at exorbitant rates. We are going backwards. Why did we need an extension on the Guildhall anyway? That is one place that I would be happy to see demolished. Why did we need a police station that wobbled in the wind?

We are talking streets. Houses that are 65 years old. I believe that it because there was a grant or subsidy. The solar panels had to be fitted by a certain date to qualify.

I do have to wonder how much money is saved when the scaffolding has to be erected twice. The solar panels fitted, removed & then refitted. Will the solar panels be up long enough for them to cover the costs of buying & then installing twice? I understand that neither the scaffolding or roofing companies are local to the area either.

Alunh, that seems to be a good way of doing it which doesn’t involve expensive new parking machines being fitted. I hope that it works for you.

Here we go again. “It is proposed that the building is converted into accommodation that would occupy the ground floor of the building’s workshop, along with the ground floor, training gallery and the first floor of the Superintendents House”. quote Wrexham.com. I wonder if the repairs to the training galleries & the drill have been done yet. I won’t hold my breath.

Llay has a very active History Group. As has Broughton. Llay Miners Welfare is a busy venue. The council houses were built as a model village for the miners of Llay Main Colliery. There are as many private house as council. Alyn Waters is a great country park right on the edge of the village used by lots of dog walkers. There is a golf course there as well.

We would all love to solve the Health Service crisis but whilst we keep adding to our population we don’t stand a chance. Closure of all the leisure facilities will add to the crisis in my opinion.
