That’s great for you N. Would that it were the same for all of us. Those who are on pension have to look more carefully at our money. For you living locally it shouldn’t be a hardship to use the bypass as you live close to it anyway but those of us who don’t but have to come into the area once or sometimes twice a day, at an extra (underlined) 3 miles each time, using our own money & time, it is much more of a hardship. Why didn’t you use the bypass before, rather than risk your wing mirrors?

I have worked out that petrol at £6.52 per gallon, it will cost me alone, £161 per annum extra per one way, to make the journey via the bypass, from my home to my destination. What price the carbon footprint for everyone else.

This lunchtime, was in town anyway, so went from Island Green along Mold Road to Colliery Road no trouble
Going back about 1pm, Crispin Lane clear, traffic backed up nearly to Crispin Lane from Grosvenor Road in one direction & Park Avenue’ish to Grosvenor Road in the other direction.
The roundabout Grosvenor Road/Grove Road can’t cope. Happy days. Tomorrow there is a football match.
Forgot to mention traffic turning out of Station. Garden Road short cut? Have to go back shortly. I might try going through Gwersyllt, Mold Road & Stansty Lane.

I went round the Bypass yesterday, down Plas Coch, then back along Plas Coch, Mold Road, Grosvenor Road into Rhosddu then the reverse journey before going home. It took ages but forgot to check mileage & time. I will try to do that this afternoon. I can’t do this for 4 weeks.

Tell me honestly, right now which way is it best for me to go from Prices Lane direction to Colliery Road, pick someone up to take them to Rhosddu & then back again to Colliery Road to drop them off & then go back in the direction of Prices Lane. I am talking a disabled person. I only have limited time available.

I agree that it has to be bad during the closure but that is no comfort to the businesses that are losing their livelihood during a recession through no fault of their own. Now tell me honestly, which way is it best for me to go from Prices Road to Plas Coch to pick up a couple of pensioners to take them back into Rhosddu, trafficwise & timewise.

I agree, but if the traffic backs up at 5-5.30pm under the bridge now, what will it be like on the Mold Road with all that additional traffic. I am pleased that I have a choice.

Just thought that I should mention that tonight at 5.34pm the traffic was backed up solid along the Mold Road between the main gates of Glyndwr University to Grosvenor Road traffic lights going towards town. I am sure that they know what they are doing. Surely!! It was pretty dire going the other way, turning right off Grosvenor Road at the lights as the lady in front was nervous of pulling into the main stream of traffic because of the traffic was backed up from King Street direction.

Cancel the one way trial idea under the railway bridge in Stansty.

Repair existing buildings instead of rebuilding new ones.

Let empty council houses within 1 month instead of 5. Don’t replace kitchens, bathrooms, doors, windows & central heating when there is no need.

Do away with unnecessary pretty coloured tarmac & sign-age on roads where there is no chance to read them.

Stop painting cycle tracks on perfectly wide roads where there is no need of them.
