I think it is going to be around Queen’s Square with Llwyn Isaf being used for music and picnics. Everyone is questioning spending £2500 on a week’s effort to encourage trade to our town but no mention of spending £5000 on an open top bus to celebrate the Football Club’s cup win , which will be over in half a day.

Just listening in now they sound very coherent for two people who have been awake over 48hrs about 4 to go!! Like the idea that they will catch up on some TV when they finish, sleep would be my first option !!!

The Chester Road was resurfaced completely for the first time in over 30 years in 2005 and yet it is very badly eroded and potholed in many places. The quality of the work must be questioned, surely the surface should not be wearing out so quickly.

The fact that this snow is still here nine days after it fell is testament to how bad it has been. The slow thaw may have prevented some flooding but is causing property damage, guttering and conservatories are especially vulnerable. There are also some magnificent icicles out there, take care and don’t stand under them !!

If you have been grateful for the ability to buy local this week during the bad weather, then carry on supporting them so that next time they are still there!

Our thanks should also go to the Emergency Services. I have just seen an ambulance driver having to dig a pathway into a house , a neighbour also pitched in. They must have had an almost impossible job in the few days , how thankful those who have needed their services must feel knowing they will get help and a snow mountain is no deterrent!
