It’s down to what the dogs are being fed apparently, feeding dogs raw bones causes the white poo. That and the fact responsible owners should pick it up so you wouldn’t see it anyway :D

I contacted the Highways Agency after googleing their number.. but I didnt see any sign of an emergency number within the roadworks area (there may be one).

    Anyway … 0300 123 5000 is the Highways Agency.
You get through to a guy on work experience who isn’t quite clear what a road is just yet and certainly not familiar with the numbering system. A483/A55 was a bit too complex for him.

There seem to have been quite a few successful prosecutions in regards to burglary lately, where as previously there was a perception that not a lot was being done to tackle the issue. What, if anything, has improved there?

The Wrexham area is, and has been for a few years now, suffering from an arson epidemic.
Have any successful arrests and prosecutions taken place and what are Wrexham Police doing to change this increasing local crime trend?

Good afternoon. Arrests have been made – one for a dwelling house arson and further recently for a similar offence. One person is on bail whilst enquiries of a forensic nature continue.

North Wales Police, Wrexham Council and and North Wales Fire Service work together in a preventative measure known as the Phoenix project which uses a diversionary approach to prevent offending.

For a time these offences were not publicised as we feared copycat attacks however we do now issue press appeals for assistance in detecting these offences and the public are now assisting us to reduce the incidents. As a result it may well appear that this is an escalating trend, in reality the number of incidents year on year is stable. This is however an area that we are working to reduce and we would be grateful for any assistance the public can give.

What powers do the Police and WCBC have to insist that all dogs are kept on a lead at all times in Bellevue Park? Likewise what can be done to restrict the loitering of drug users in the Park?

Both issues are causing concerns for law abiding users of the Park plus the kids from St Mary ‘s and Victoria Schools.

There is a Bellevue Park Residents Group meeting on the 26th so this Webcast is very timely.

As you know I was at the meeting last night and I heard the concerns.

With regard to the drugs issue, of course we are concerned about drug taking in public (or indeed any) place. You will see on a weekly basis that we publicise drug arrests/warrants, indeed only this week we executed a warrant on a house where cannabis was being grown.

We have increased the uniform presence in the park to deter offending and provide reassurance, but I realise that there is still much work to do in this regard and further warrants are planned shortly.

With regard to dogs on leads, the dogs may be exercised freely. However, if requested either by Police or Council Warden to do so then the dog must be placed on a lead and there is a consequence for non compliance.

What is being or can be done to stop the group of youths currently creating havoc around Caia Park? The police are more than aware of who they are, yet they continue to make peoples lives a misery walking around like wannabe gangsters, stealing cars and committing burglaries as and when they like.

Perhaps you should build the new Police HQ on the green in middle of Montrose Gardens, save a fortune on fuel ;)

From a policing perspective from 5 January 2015 2 officers from each patrol rota have been specifically assigned to Caia. That means that unless there is a dire emergency elsewhere they will remain on Caia for the whole of their shift. Additionally we have appointed a high quality community beat manager who problem solves repeat issues. With regard to the youths, we know there are a hardcore of about 16 who cause the most problems there. We are quite openly targeting these youths, 5 have been arrested since January 5th and placed on strict curfews which means they have to be indoors at a specified address from 7pm – 7 am and we check that they comply with that condition. One didn’t and has now been remanded to prison.

From a joint perspective Hugh and I are at the front of setting up a harm reduction unit which sees Council and Police officers working from the same office to provide a more effective and speedy response to issues when they arise.

We also have the multi agency anti social behaviour tasking group which meets monthly and discusses key individuals. From this forum we are working hard to implement the new anti social behaviour legislation which is victim focused. We also work closely with tenancy enforcement which essentially puts at risk a council tenants occupancy of their home should they or their children indulge in anti social behaviour or criminality.

There is much going on, but much more will be done! Caia is a priority area for both organisations.

What are the Council and Police doing to control the bus drivers in and around King Street. Often they dint seem to know how to use indicators, they have no idea about the length of their bus causing havoc outside the Fat Cat and stopping traffic flow and the same by the CoOp queuing to get to a stand. Pedestrian and driver nightmare with a fatality waiting to happen act now before it happens.

Where there are specific issues with regard to inappropriate operation by bus operators, we need the public to provide us with the necessary information. We will then take the matter up with the bus operators.

What about a clampdown on parking right outside schools on picking up and dropping off times before someone is seriously injured or worse ?

From a police perspective I encourage our PCSOs to patrol the area around schools at the necessary times. When they report back parking violations, Police deal with obstructions, Council with offences concerning ignoring yellow lines and the like.

20 MPH limits have been imposed outside some schools and is gradually being introduced throughout the Borough. If areas outside a particular school is a particular problem then let us know. We have had successes is resolving this issue in Acton and Barkers Lane and will look at all areas.
