KidAParticipantBring it on I say. Yes, I’d prefer the Council to carry out this function but with all the cuts etc, there is no way they would create this type of role without including in it a myriad of other duties meaning the actual problem of littering and fouling would fall by the wayside.
I am sick to death of the littering and fouling throughout the area and I for one welcome this as a step in the right direction. I don’t care how much this company earn. In fact, the more the earn the better as this should mean they are penalising more of these inconsiderate people of Wrexham who think its ok to treat the fields, hedges and roadsides of Wrexham as their own personal litter bin.
Education on this subject starts with children and if you’re an adult who happily lets your dog foul or deposits the contents of your latest take-away on the roadside, then it’s too late for you so let’s hope you are one of the ones subject to this ‘zero tolerance’ approach.
KidAParticipantPossibly but if the charge is based partly on rental values, then I can’t see how this can be manipulated as owners/tenants can appeal. What is more likely is that the although gross rates will fall, the criteria for small business reduction will be modified meaning net charges will remain high. Also, unoccupied industrial units get first 6 months free and retail units get 3 so there is some incentive.
KidAParticipantthere is going to be a countrywide reassessment of rates next year to reflect post-recession rental values so surely rates will reduce for the majority of smaller businesses anyway, so Alun may get his wish.
KidAParticipantAlthough I agree with the majority of Fernweh’s post, I do feel we have become a society of complainers and I do not agree that the customer is always right, especially if they are abusive or aggressive, which is all too easy to be over the phone.
I would be surprised, however, if Moneypenny didn’t cover this aspect of customer service on their training, and I am sure they have mechanisms for dealing with unreasonable customers.
Being a generic advisor, though, the staff would not have the advantage of being expert in the subject matter which leaves them with little wriggle room when things get complicated and frustrates customers even further but this is the way of the world today where experts are being replaced with generic teams.
In terms of the actual question about working for Moneypenny, I say give it a go. Go into it with open eyes and an open, positive mind. This is essentially a call centre though, and the role will come with associated difficulties which will not suit everyone. An excellent local success story – it can’t be all bad!
KidAParticipant
Or perhaps neither of you have the intelligence to consult the rescheduled dates as shown on the bin collection calendar!
Quite agree. In addition to Ben’s post, in the time it took to write the initial post, you could have checked the council website or telephoned them.
KidAParticipantI’m a regular user of the car park and agree it has been in a disgusting state for ages. I don’t expect a deep clean but it doesn’t even receive a once-over given the same litter present day after day. Why can’t it be a no alcohol/loitering zone and monitored by PCSO’s as part of their daily circuit of the Town?
As for the cleaning company, whether it’s council affiliated or not, who cares as long as they do their job which clearly they don’t but I suspect this is down to cuts more that the lack of will.
KidAParticipantNo respect, no fear, no conscience, no hope. Yet we’re obliged to provide sites for them and cannot discriminate despite their indifference to general civility.
KidAParticipantApologies for trying to keep on topic . I deliberately ignored MOB’s comments as I am sure the post is designed to spark outrage whilst the author delights in the heated responses it receives. The post is idiotic, ill informed, inflammatory and not worthy of comment, except I just did. Happy now😉
KidAParticipantGetting back to the point, I don’t have a particular problem with Mark P but for the sake of the Town’s image and visitors perception, I’m glad he’s not allowed in the Town centre but agree there are far worse who need dealing with. I too hope MP gets the help he needs but fear he’s too far gone.
KidAParticipant
If you care to read fully, without being selective in your quote, I stated categorically that I do not condone vandalism in any shape or form. What I did say however, is that it is entirely understandable the residents get heartily pee’d off with the constant and endless stream of vehicle drivers being totally oblivious and inconsiderate to residents needs.
Furthermore, I, nor anyone I know has committed such an act, irrespective of the frustrations that they feel.
True Benjamin, but your initial post did appear to condone this mindless vandalism, although you have since clarified your position. I too get frustrated by cars parking (legally) outside my house all day, but I never feel the need to break the law to vent my frustration, but I accept that Wrexham, like many other places has differing levels of intolerance and civility.
