Mark Pritchard elected Leader of Wrexham Council, again

Rhostyllen councillor Mark Pritchard has been returned as Leader of the Council again.
The vote took place last night at the Full Council meeting in the Guildhall.
Councillor David A Bithell nominated Cllr Pritchard, seconded by Cllr Paul Pemberton. There were no other nominations.
38 councillors voted in favour, 13 against, with one abstention. It appeared the Labour group were generally voting against.
The role of Deputy Leader was then decided, with the new Council Leader Mark Pritchard nominated Cllr David A Bithell. That was seconded by Cllr John Phillips. There were no other nominations.
44 councillors voted in favour with 8 against. Labour appeared to support this move, with Plaid generally voting against.
The numbers allocated to political groups to allocate Chairs of Scrutiny committees were also voted through, although the names were not made public.
The draft calendar for the council was also agreed and unanimously supported.
