So Ms Atherton now that your illustrious friend Boris has now dropped out will you start to grovel to Sunak to try and keep your postion- or will he now ditch you for being a Boris supporter,

The clock is ticking for the next Genral Election whether it is called early or two years, but I am fairly certain the people of Wrexham will not forget your views and the total lack of engagement with local people. You will be the shortest serving MP for the area since 1935.

How many people can remember that Therese Coffey stood in Wrexham in 2005 election – coming third behind the Lib Dems.

MPs being self centred and backing the candidate mostly likely to give them a job. Boris is still under investigation and was sacked only a few weeks ago. Where in any work environment would you bring back someone with so much baggage. MPs or Conservative members need to go and see a head shrink to get checked out. As a country we are an international laughing stock. If Boris has any personal morals he would not even stand.

Wrexham Council has a habit of not promoting anything that they cannot badge as ‘theirs’ they just don’t get it that no matter who organises events in the town centre/city they benefit the image of the area. The lack of engagement probably means the Mayor, Leader or Chief Executive couldn’t get in with the BBC to take the limelight.

Anyone thinking of getting contract cancelled. Compensation of £8 after 48 hours is not good enough.

Jimbow – you could tell when meeting are online those Councilors who are reading documents for the first time in the meeting. Also agree the 40 odd Councilors who are not on Executive should be pensioned off as they are redundant. On the rare occasions they ask any questions they are shot down, where is democratic accountability- The Leader is just giving lip service.

This is just another example of Wrexham Councils creative narrative writing – the Council have mastered the art of creative writing with many if their Council reports having very selective information that never tells the whole story. Look at the Nine Acre – only a few months after they wanted to build on the site they lost that and now it is to become the QE11 field- spin at it’s very worst.

So we have now had an ‘explanation’ from the Chief Executive and Leader answering the Wrexham.com questions what and where is Wrexham City. The responses appear to indicate a level of uncertainty from the people who signed the application – is the city the old Wrexham town or is it the County Borough- their response is certainly not clear.

The actual patent makes it clear that the city status is for the whole of the County Borough – all the villages we have are now located in the city.

As the Council leadership seem unsure it looks like there is going to be another contract being awarded for outside consultants to come up with Brand Wrexham – ratepayers having to pay yet again.

Thanks Acom for the link to the announcement – not sure how many people like me did not realise it was the whole County Borough that has now been made a City – did the Council make that clear to the people of Wrexham County. The Council always referred to applying for city status for Wrexham not Wrexham County Borough.

I wonder how the people who are now in the rural City of Wrexham feel about now living in a city..

BornAcom – 2019 without all of the extra costs, the loss of good paid jobs and more — why the Councilors feel they have more knowledge than Planning Officers (although they are not perfect)- the whole system needs an overhaul.

Whilst I agree the Ukraine war is having an impact the problem has been lack of investment for manyn year. When we had the good old days of oil and gas from the North Sea the country should have anticipated that it would be time limited, and alternatives were needed.

For hundreds of years countries around the world have fought for natural resources – whether it was water being diverted from one country or area to another it all impacted- and more recently oil has been fought over in the middle east.

As global warming is taking place there are extremes of weather with resources in abundance in some areas and shortage elsewhere. We only need to see the massive flooding occurring in Pakistan whilst not that far away in China they are having a drought which is greater than for 100’s years. We transport oil and gas by pipe – why not pipe water across country boundaries.

These are global issues that require global solutions with all countries working to there as we are all interdependents on all parts of the world.
