A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Wrexham yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the A495 between Whitchurch and Bronington shortly before 7:20pm on Thursday 9 May after reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a black Suzuki GSX1250 motorbike.

North Wales Police say the bike was travelling in a group with other motorcycles at the time.

Officers attended and the rider, a 42-year-old man, was flown to the Royal University Stoke hospital by an air ambulance, where he continues to receive treatment.

The road was closed for initial collision investigation but has since reopened.

PC Dylan Smith of the North Wales Police Roads Crime Unit is appealing for witnesses.

He said: “We are urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who may have been travelling along the A495 in the vicinity of Bronington at the time, and who may have dash cam footage, to contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Wales Police either via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number Q065723.
