Could swear I replied to a topic like this, but according to the Government:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/4462/traffic-signs-manual-chapter-05.pdf

15.25 No other marking may be
used within the controlled area, except hatched and
chevron markings in the circumstances described in
    para 15.26″

This crossing clearly goes against government guidelines and the highways department should not have allowed it in its current form.

I keep thinking of Morrisons as brand new but its nearly two years old. Seals may be designed to last longer than that but who’s to say the manufacturer or contractor goofed up on manufacturing/installation.

Signs were erected last year to mark both lanes as acceptable for town so people won’t be queuing right back around.

It just takes time for everyone to actually read road signs when they are “used” to the road.

But you can’t really make it more pronounced than the bright yellow AA signs they’ve used.

As you say, perhaps if we had less greenery there’d be less shady areas.

But then again the town would be a grey place without planting.

I filled up at Morrisons this morning at 8:15 and have not (yet) experienced any issues.

Look at planning details for P/2013/0515

Looks like ATS Euromaster have kicked them, and Dave Bennett, out.

Maybe the council could get the developers to build a ramped footbridge over the railway. Could cite pushchair/wheelchair access under the current bridge.

Then the council could knock out the current walkway in the bridge and widen the road! Stansty bridge issue sorted.

They had a license to sell alcohol until five am but did they let people in after 2am?

It’s a Marston’s pub, perhaps they could try renovating it into a food pub with more sensible closing times? Not that it’ll ever rival the Nags head.

Otherwise, it’ll probably be left vacant for years to come until it’s sold/demolished.

Same thing happened in Llandudno – it explains they move the food from the chillers back into storage to keep the food okay.

It may be that the power had just come back on. Would explain why the car park lights were on in daylight (like what happens with a security light when you plug it in).

If I were to guess, I think emergency lighting, cold storage rooms, and some point of sale would be highest priority for the generator. I’ve heard of fridge/freezer stock being thrown out in powercuts before.
