Yes very true, give it 18 months our 60mph and 70mph roads will end up being 50mph.

This has already largely happened over the past decade for 60mph roads.

From many of the comments you’d swear they’ve just founded the next French Republic, rather than vote to spaff a six figure sum up the wall for ego.

The junction redesign is dead in the (Lee) Water(s) – it’s not happening.

Surprisingly it is a private consortium that have raised the Judicial Review, and the council’s counsel believes it is unwinnable.

Since this makes it incredibly likely that the LDP is happening either way, that makes this upcoming vote less about the LDP and more a “shall we squander lots of Council Tax on a KC or not” – a test of councillors IQ if you will.

Well well well, it seems a legal challenge of sorts has been made so there’s a last chance saloon vote before it goes further.

I suspect many councillors threw it out because if LDP3 becomes a thing it’s probably another decade away.

If the Welsh Gov imposes it on us then said councillors can shrug and say “well I voted against it”, like water off a ducks back.

    Cynical I know.

Perhaps we can celebrate with a Groves sized… and shaped… bonfire?

TSB is in the same place, though it spent quite some time as the second Lloyds TSB branch before they were split.

Edit: Also technically Tesco, though they completely reconfigured the site when the Holt Road roundabout was redesigned.

Looking at Legat Owen’s website the Library is already for sale, so the council are disposing of the building already.

Unless you mean demolish, which the council will find tough given it’s Grade II listed.

What annoys me is that their methodology relies on nebulous sustainable transport strategies that, lets face it, will never come either.

If anything this whole farce makes me want to use my car even more out of sheer spite.
