Llandegla and the Forest are over the border in Denbighshire though, so wouldn’t be a destination in Wrexham itself.

What about the Ceirog valley? A natural beauty spot inside the County Borough.

The council don’t have £1 million pounds; they’re bidding for it from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

I don’t think the Heritage Lottery Fund are interested in funding 60’s leisure centres, they’re not so… heritage.

Unfortunately it doesn’t matter how many white lines or signs they put up it won’t make people that break the rules drive differently.

Other than a permanent camera near the end, the only way to eliminate the issue I can see would be an engineering solution. It’s difficult because the river is right next to the road, but some sort of re-alignment, road widening or extension of the dual carriageway will at least protect other road users from those who won’t see reason.

    According to that document:

” The scheme will provide bus priority along the Chester Road corridor, the third busiest bus corridor with 9 buses per hour including the Chester-Wrexham route no 1 (12 minute frequency service). Inbound buses will be able to avoid queuing at the Chester Road/Inner Ring Road and Inner Ring Road/Rhosddu Roundabout junctions by rerouting via the lightly trafficked Grove Road.

A bus only connection will be made westbound with the Inner Ring Road managed by a bus gate. This will enable priority to be afforded to the Chester Road bus services. The scheme will not only reduce queuing times but also distance, shortening the route by 130m. “

According to a Google search, a bus gate itself seems to be an automatic bollard.

You’d think Taith would pay the £7000 if they really cover car parking now, they’ll shell out hundreds of grands for some 90’s style electronic signage!

No other area seems to have this problem. Same bunch of people, perhaps?

I would like to know how these things are going to work, without a barrier in/out system, how are they going monitor how full each car park is ? More importantly, how much is this white elephant going to cost to run & maintain ?

It looks like they’ve been installing Inductive loop detection systems at the car park entrances – look for a square of black lines around the entrance.

It looks like this (the lines on the floor), but outlined with black tar instead.

Certainly all those old mine shafts and tunnels, not being the dryest of locations, will have rotting timbers or corroded iron props by now.

Certainly not a good plan to go pumping water at high pressure down there!

Is that what those thick black poles that were put up in May are meant to hold? Noticed them going up in various places from St Giles way to the library.

Wouldn’t it have made more sense to put them on the main roads into town rather than in the middle of it?

If this does go ahead, it may be the first to use the new “T-Pylon” design
