Look at the Llay New rd, 4 limit changes within 1 mile. A child could have used more common sense.
I like the way they have carefully placed the 40mph signs going into town so they are nicely obstructed by trees.
I just can’t believe how a group of people in the council can sit down and plan something so badly, then sit back and watch the work being carried out. It’s a disgrace when you consider the money some of them must be raking in.

The lowering of the speed limit from the national limit is happening in many places now around the country, I noticed a few council workers putting up 50mph signs on the lane from Ruthin Road across to Bersham, not sure why they are reducing it from the national limit, have there been any serious accidents down there?
I can fully understand reducing the speed limit from the national limit (60mph), what I can’t work out is why it increases from 30-50mph for such a short stretch of road, then back down from 50-40mph. Why not just 30-40mph ? All it will do is encourage people to put their foot down coming out of the 30 zone, then back on the brakes a few seconds later.
Does anyone know the best email address to contact the council on so I can ask them what they are playing at ?
lazyjackParticipantPerhaps someone from the council could provide information regarding incidents/accidents that have occurred on this road during the last 12/18 months.
I presume this ‘trial’ has gone ahead due to a high number of incidents, although I can only recall seeing one there during my 21 years of driving.

Why widen the footpath if this is really only a trial?
Exactly what I’ve been thinking. The footpath has been as it is for a number of years so what’s the point in closing the road completely for a week just for a ‘trial’.
Surely the point of the trial is to see the effect on the traffic when it’s one way, a wider footpath isn’t going to prove anything. Looks like the decision has already been made to me.
I just can’t get my head around how making the road one way is actually going to improve things. The roads that are going to be most affected by this (Mold Rd, Grosvenor Rd) are already clogged up in rush hour so the extra traffic will just make things worse.
lazyjackParticipantI’ve already done that but I just wandered if many others had similar experiences.
lazyjackParticipantAs for Indian restaurants I don’t think you can beat Jira on Church St.
I eat there on a fairly regular basis in a group of 8-12 friends and we have never had to send a meal back. We must have had over 100 meals between us in the last 12 months or so.
You can also use the Wrexham Savers card there for takeaway collections.
lazyjackParticipantProbably because there’s not much worth stealing in the shops that are left in the town centre.
lazyjackParticipantThe system I’ve seen a few times is you get so many hours free parking when you spend say £5 at any one of the stores. The retailer simply validates the parking ticket at the till. This would be ideal at Eagles Meadow as the vast majority would end up with free parking.
Personally, I begrudge paying to park there when I am going to spend maybe £30 – £40 in the cinema and restaurant. It should be free if they want to increase customers.
lazyjackParticipantGot to agree with the OP, we’ve even had broken glass left behind on occasion. It’s ironic that there’s more litter on the road after the refuse collection. Total lack of interest in doing the job properly.
Perhaps someone from Wrexham Council refuse dept would like to pass comment.
