Slightly confusing statements coming from the council on this. Firstly they state:

“All the company assets and liabilities will transfer to the Council. The dormant Company will be maintained simply as an option but there are no current plans for its immediate use.”

    But then say:

“No significant implications for the Council. The Company was liable for Corporation Tax – the Council is not.”

Either they are transferring over all of the liabilities or they are not, but they cant seem to make up their mind.

Would be interesting to see how much Isted and co have been receiving as directors of this company.

Most peoples garden waste will be going straight in the black bins if this happens.

I think that the link AMA Express provided spells out the problem. The number of GP’s has risen but the number of hours on average they are working has fallen. They get paid so much they can afford to work a 2-3 day week and still live a comfortable lifestyle.

Section 2.1.2 of the actual report clearly states the A483 is already likely compliant with the air quality rules

Section 2.2 further reiterates this and says “The section of the A483 under consideration in this study is expected to have achieved compliance in 2018.”

Also from previous reports the stated logic for “Enforce / Reduce Speed Limit (50mph)” is “Smoother flow in peak hours improves HDV (Heavy Duty Vehicle) emissions”

So at a time when budgets are stretched they are going to spend a heap of money to implement something that their own report states is not needed, and even if it were needed it would only be needed during peak hours.

When the push/pull tests were being carried out by the Chuckle Brothers everything was fine; they never tired of the whole push/pull routine from the very first railing to the very last. Since the sad death of Barry Chuckle they have had to hire a new team who get bored after the first 20 railings, so the quality of the inspections has suffered.

I don’t know what Thomas Telford was thinking when he had 195mm gaps – surely he could have predicted that 2019 regulations would demand 110mm gaps. Maybe this is why he was never knighted yet Nick Clegg was.

Regardless of what the gap between the railings is, there is always the possibility that someone could jump over the railings not realising this is a bad thing to do. Even worse, on the other side there are no railings at all. What if someone decides to jump off one of the boats thinking there is solid ground on the other side. Or maybe someone jumping from the path over the trough and hoping to balance on the trough edge – without a railing to grab onto this becomes a serious health and safety issue.

Clearly what is needed is for the whole aqueduct to be enclosed in a cage. In case anyone decides to climb on to cage it will need to be covered in razor wire and monitored with 24 hour CTV, and regular dog patrols to deter anyone from attempting cut through the razor wire.

Or maybe we should just knock down the whole thing and have a bus replacement service running from Fron to Llangollen. Much safer.

Northwich recently held a candlelit prayer ceremony in the town to pray for hope for the regeneration of the town in the face of local negativity.

Maybe things are getting this desperate in Wrexham as well, and they could try this approach.

Rob: yeah their reporting tool is not the easiest thing to use. I’ve managed to find out how to do it though:

    – In the second row, you have two boxes ‘Target’ and ‘Date’. Drag the ‘Date’ box down to the row below and put it next to the ‘Measure’ box. (when you drag the boxes the box you are dragging appears miles above the mouse, so it easy to think its not working. you need to ‘drop’ the actual box and not the mouse).
    – Now drag the ‘Measure’ box and put it in the place where you just got the ‘Date’ box from.
    – You should now see data for all dates and you can use the drop down on the ‘Date’ box if you wish to filter to certain date ranges.
    – Now you can just use the export button to export the data.

    Should look like this afterwards:

Well the cost for US participants is about £1900, so i guess the UK Scout Assocation is taking a chunk out of the ~£1600 difference and NewWorld LLC the American company that is organising the event will be taking a chunk out of the £1900.
