A shortage of staff has resulted in several train cancellations for those travelling to and from Wrexham.

Details provided on the Arriva Trains Wales website today states that a shortage of train crew has resulted in several cancellations to rail services throughout the day. Shortage of train staff and conductors have caused similar delays and cancellations recently.

As a result of the shortage, trains travelling between Wrexham General Station – Bidston and Wrexham General – Shrewsbury have been cancelled until this evening. Train services affected are:-

14:30 Wrexham Central to Bidston due 15:30

15:32 Bidston to Wrexham Central due 16:32

16:30 Wrexham Central to Bidston due 17:31

17:45 Bidston to Wrexham Central due 18:46

20:49 Wrexham General to Shrewsbury due 21:28

As a result of the cancellations, buses are to replace trains between Wrexham Central and Bidston.

Further information provided on the Arriva Trains Wales website about the delays states: “Passengers may be entitled to compensation for the delay caused to this journey.”
