Many people across Wrexham woke to find they had no water today, and have encountered problems all day.

Initially the issue was stated as being a problem with a booster station, however the water company then located a burst water pipe in Rhosnesni. A second burst was then discovered.

A third pipe burst was then referenced, and then in the latest update the term ‘several’ was then used.

Hafren Dyfrdwy have said this evening, “We’re really sorry for the problems caused by several pipes bursting in the Wrexham area today. Our teams have been working hard to get the water back on as quickly as possible, and we really are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

“We’re pleased to say that we’re now seeing water pressure build across the area, so expect that most people should now have their water back on.

“As the network fills back up with water, it may be at a lower than usual pressure and you may notice that it is discoloured. This is nothing to worry about and will quickly clear on it’s own and the supply will be back to normal when the network fills fully back up again.

“Our tanker fleet is still continuing to support by pumping water back into the network of pipes. You may notice our tankers in the area, but we will cause as little disruption as possible.”

“We know how hard it has been having no water today and we appreciate your understanding during this time.”

More updates are expected through this evening.
