RSPCA Cymru is making an appeal for information after a total of eight kittens were dumped in two separate incidents in the Wrexham area during the past week.

On Sunday (20 October) a box of five kittens were found in a cardboard box at the entrance to Stryt Las Country Park, Johnstown. The kittens were around four weeks old and quite poorly but are now in the care of the RSPCA and showing signs of improvement.

The most recent incident happened on Wednesday (23 October). Two boxes were found outside Vets4pets on Caia Road, one containing three kittens around seven-eight weeks old, while the other box was empty.

The boxes used to dump the cats.

There is concern that the empty box may have contained the mother cat or more kittens who may have escaped, but despite a search of the area nothing was found.

The kittens at Johnstown were only 4 weeks old and too young to be separated from their mother.

Kia Thomas from the RSPCA said “We are appealing for information about who dumped these defenceless kittens. Anything could have happened to them had they not been discovered and taken to safety.
