Red Arrows to fly over Wrexham on Sunday afternoon

The Royal Air Force aerobatic team will arrive at Hawarden airport on Sunday at 3.09pm, following the above route in, which includes a pass over to the east of Wrexham in the minutes beforehand.

The detail of the transit times have been published, so those wishing to look at the skies are advised to keep an eye out from 3pm onwards – obviously subject to change due to things such as the weather!

The Red Arrows transit in formation and are heading to Hawarden ahead of their performance at the Rhyl Air Show. Generally they fly in formation when transiting, and do formation flying landings with a small custom routine. Similarly when they take off they form up on the runway and then take off in threes before forming up and flying off together – a rare sight.

The pilots and team will rest up for a couple of hours while the aircraft are refueled and readied for 5.18pm departure from Hawarden en route to the Rhyl display at 5.30pm.

The Reds will then arrive back at Hawarden at 5.55pm where they will spend the night.

Bank Holiday Monday will see the jets depart at 11.13am, again all times subject to change and weather dependant.
