There have been large queues on the A483 Southbound heading towards Chirk this evening after a car hit the central reservation.

The accident took place just after 6pm between the Rhos and Bangor-on-Dee junctions leaving a Jaguar facing the wrong way in the fast lane.

It is believed that the accident involved only one car but it left the central barrier badly bent.

We were alerted to the situation by @wrexham follower Natty (@natty_pie) who reported that drivers were blocking the right lane preventing police from getting to the scene of the accident.

Queues cleared at around 7pm, however the right hand lane is still blocked off as police clear the vehicle from the scene.

Jordan Potts (@chelseafan4lyfe) sent in pictures of the incident as shown above and below.

It is the latest in a string of crashes on the A483 which have led road users to raise safety fears.

Two weeks ago there was an 8 car crash on Gresford hill on the A483 southbound with a multi vehicle crash also taking place on the north bound carriageway just a day before.

The week before that two lorries collided near Gresford hill leaving one of them in a ditch.

What do you think can be done to solve the A483 safety problems? You can discuss it in our forum here.
