Around 4.30pm today several vehicles were involved in a crash just after the Gresford roundabout junction of the northbound a483.

Several police cars, ambulances and fire service appliances are attending.

The bypass was closed off from Gresford, with cars being diverted off and traffic not being allowed to join the road.

When we went down at 4.45pm the roads around were gridlocked.

Earlier today we published a piece on dangerous driving conditions further up the a483, where water on the road was causing aquaplaning.

Here at Wrexham.com we have our own top of the range weather station, which has recorded 1.13 inches of rainfall in the last 24 hours. For context, the welsh average rainfall for the entire of April is 3.4inches. This is based from our own uniquely collected data, not the usual BBC/Met Office data which is from Hawarden!
