Police Warning After Borras Burglaries and Thefts
Police are reminding residents to ensure gates are locked, lights set on timers where appropriate and to be vigilant after an incident in Borras last night.
Late yesterday evening we reported on information from residents of burglaries and thefts from the Golbourne Estate, with further details emerging today.
Police were called between 7pm and 8pm to three incidents on Links Road where conservatory doors and kitchen windows had been smashed or removed to gain access to properties.
Once inside car keys were stolen, along with money and one push bike, a black blue and red ‘Giant’.
Two vehicles were also stolen, with a Peugeot 206 later recovered on Dean Road. A brown Vauxhall Corsa was also stolen and has yet to be recovered.
Police have said they are upping the number of patrols in response to the incident, and ask anyone who sees suspicious activity to call them via 101 to report it.
Further, residents are asked to ensure side gates or similar are locked, and where possible to use security lighting or timers for lights.
Other related tips include ensuring car keys are not left in doors or visible from the outside of properties, and ensuring doors and windows are locked and closed.
Anyone with information is asked to call police via the 101 number, with reference number S1087080.
Inspector Kneale tweeted the following this morning, however it is not believed it was connected to the Borras incidents, with the man detained on Wellington Road in Hightown.
