North Wales Police have teamed up with Tesco stores across the region to help those who are victims of domestic abuse.

The partnership will see the supermarket chain distribute leaflets which encourage people to report domestic abuse and which list organisations and agencies that offer support and advice.

Strategic Domestic Abuse Officer, PC Mike Taggart said: A serious concern at the moment is isolation and the effects of controlling and coercive behaviour as victims spend a much longer time in the company of their abuser during the lockdown.

“We need to get the message out that North Wales Police will deal with offenders robustly and that people should not suffer in silence. There is support out there.

“We are grateful to Tecso which has agreed to make these safeguarding tip leaflets available through click and collect and home deliveries from stores in Llandudno Junction, Holyhead, Bangor, Prestatyn and Wrexham.”

Andy Smith of Tesco added: “Tesco stores across North Wales are pleased you be able to support North Wales police by distributing these important leaflets, using our Home Shopping delivery service, while people stay home.”
