Update: The road has reopened after police responded to concerns over the safety of a man on the bridge over the railway.

Traffic is returning to normal, with trains running again although Arriva do say that disruption to schedules may last until around 3pm.

Original information below….
Part of Mold Road is closed off this afternoon as police deal with an incident on the bridge over the railway.

The road was closed at around 12:40pm this afternoon – with reports that police were diverting traffic away from the area.

PCSO Perrin has since confirmed the road is closed while police attend an incident. She said: “Road closure by Wrexham General train station at the moment due to ongoing incident. Avoid that part of town if possible, thanks.”

As a result of the ongoing incident there have been delays with train services – with the following message is being displayed on Wrexham General station boards due to the incident:

Access is still possible to Wrexham General from the town side of the bridge. Through traffic is blocked with a diversion in place for those travelling into town, with cars being directed down Crispin Lane.

Due to this Crispin Lane and Mold Road are described as being ‘at a standstill’.
