Gritting is to take place overnight as the bad weather continues.

Residents are being alerted that Wrexham County Borough Council’s gritting team will be spreading grit on roads throughout the county borough from 8pm this evening (Thursday, December 31, 2015) until tomorrow morning (Friday, January 1, 2016).

It is expected that temperatures during the night will reach near or below zero, affecting routes in the Wrexham, Dolywern, Bwlchgwyn and Bangor on Dee areas.

Frost is likely and road users are advised to take care.

This afternoon will see a heavy band on rain pass over from the west:

Tonight will see a clearer night with temperatures dropping, with a cold and wet start to 2016 through next week.
