Road users are being warned of ‘essential roadworks’ taking place on one of the main gateways into Wrexham next week.

The roadworks will take place on the roundabout on Ruabon Road roundabout where it meets Fairy Road and Victoria Road.

Wrexham Council say that the works will begin on Tuesday 29th August and will be carried out during off peak traffic periods.

The works will be carried out over two phases:

Phase 1 Thursday 24 August 2017 between 7.00 and 11.00 pm

Additional highway drainage will be put on Ruabon Road next to the roundabout. Four way traffic lights will be in place for the works and removed when they’re finished.

Phase 2 Tuesday 29 August 2017 through to Saturday 2 September.

Victoria Road will be closed from Edward Street through to the roundabout on Ruabon Road.

Fairy Road from the junction with Court Road will also be closed through to the Ruabon Road roundabout.

Diversions will be in place and the works will take place between 7.00 and 11.00 pm.

Two way traffic lights will be in place to control the traffic travelling along Ruabon Road.

Access to properties and pedestrian access through the works will be available at all times during the works although there may be some slight delays at times.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “These works are essential to improve the road surface in this area.

“They are part of a series of planned improvements in the town centre and, whilst I know it will cause disruption to some of we plan to keep this to a minimum.”
