‘Cooking Left Unattended’ Results in Early Morning Fire

Fire crews were this morning called to a ‘cooking fire’ at a Wrexham property.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to North Avenue, Ruabon at 1:04am this morning after a fire broke out at a property.

Two crews from Wrexham attended the fire, which was caused by cooking left unattended.

The fire was confined to the kitchen and two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera were used to extinguish the blaze.

The fire resulted in 100% smoke damage to the kitchen and a further 20% fire damage to the living room. There was also 100% fire damage to the cooker and and freezer.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed there were no casualties as a result of the fire.
