The area where most of the disaster victims were entombed is in the region of the Gresford Flash & the Pant yr Ochain public house.

When I worked at a shop on Queen Street the same thing happened to us. Firstly there was the Vegetable Market fiasco with the demolition, then the facade had scaffolding all around it, then a substantial part of the road had to be closed off as that became unsafe so all in all it went on for years. Then most of the side facing Queen Street had empty shops for a long time, I am sorry for TE Roberts. They have been there for years. Another local business gone.

How much money was wasted on applying for city status? Did anyone actually come out and tell us the pro’s & con’s all on the same sheet of paper?
How much money would be saved if council properties were maintained regularly instead of being allowed to get into such a state of disrepair that things need to be replaced.
Couldn’t social housing tenants on benefits be loaned equipment to keep their gardens tidy. It may be that then they could grow food for themselves.

I am not sure which dept. the road signage comes under but do we need to have so many speed limit signs? On the Llay and Mold roads it is ridiculous. Car parking signage in Wrexham is the same. Who pays for speed bumps to be put in place then taken up and then replaced again? I suppose that this is Highways but it still comes out of our money.

So remind me. Why did we need a prison in Wrexham? What is the benefit to Wrexham? Don’t tell me that we have more criminals than the areas where the prisons are closing.

Are they not going to be recruited and trained locally? :-)

Now this I do agree with, Lazyjack. Do you think that there might be plans for another lot of affordable homes on the agenda or another new supermarket? If you think about it, including the car park there is quite a lot of space there if the leisure centre were to be demolished. It is a prime piece of building land due to closeness to the bypass and already having houses there. If the developers move in there is no telling what will happen. Sure as eggs the land won’t stand empty for long.

£138,613, £120,000, £250,000 figures quoted from the last few posts. My word, there is a bit of creative accounting going on.

Have you noticed though Ben10, that if you smile and are pleasant to someone that they usually smile back? It is infectious. That is the feel good factor.
