I think planning also has some responsibility, they allow large housing developments without the much needed extra amenities. Some older estates like Borras have shops, schools and surgeries, while the newer ones have nothing.
I see from the latest update on Wrexham.com that the Community Health Council will provide people with a list of surgeries in their post code. However they haven’t stated which surgeries are accepting new patients. Strathmore can’t be the only surgery working at capacity or above!
As Wrexham secondary schools are mainly 11 – 16 , Yale has always provided sixth form provision for the town. It is therefore very important that the academic standards are maintained on the ” Yale Campus”.
Totally agree with Liam regarding the loss of the Yale name. Many visitors to Wrexham specifically go to visit the grave Elihu Yale and there is a replica of the Wrexham Church Tower on the Yale campus in Connecticut USA. How fitting it was to have a college in Wrexham named Yale.

Another financial crisis facing Betsi Cadwaladr, a shortfall of 29 million to be found by 31st march 2013. The idea of only the balancing the books once every three years appears to be merely pushing the problem further into the future. They have already recently received some extra money from the Welsh Assembly and there are job vacancies that have not yet been filled. Is it poor management, expensive procurement , PFI contracts or something else at the root of the problem ?
