I’m on orange and it’s been useless for a couple of weeks now. I phoned them earlier and they admitted there was a fault but couldn’t give me an eta on getting it sorted.

I did speak to a chap in one of phone shops in Wrexham at the weekend who told me (in my EE/Orange case) that it was to do with the pending 4G upgrade work and it’s due here this summer. You can get it near Rosset apparently and it’s creeping this way…

    I’m not holding my breath.

I did get a text from Orange after my call which gave me a special number for loyal customers. 08000790200. Don’t know if that’s the same for EE and T mobile, as they always answer as Orange.

I was under the impression that Coleg Cambria was more of an umbrella name. In the same way Glyndwr university is part of the university of Wales.

I’m on Wrexham exchange and always get at least 6 to 7mb speeds. You can probably guess I’m not on BT Internet.

http://www.samknows.com is my resource of choice.

Says Wrexham exchange getting kitted out for fibre in December. Usually very accurate, and shows all the llu providers too.

    Same (December) for Wrexham north.

Had a great day. It did say on the website that if you arrive before 11 to expect a big queue. I arrived at 9.45 and was very near the front. They let the “early bird” pre-bookers in at 10, and the rest at 11. By the time we got let in the queue was massive.

The chap outside with the Knight Rider car was doing it for free, let everyone who asked sit in it and have their picture taken which I thought was really nice of him.

It was very poorly advertised locally and to be honest, the only reason I knew of it is through a t-shirt company via twitter called Genki Gear who’s t-shirts I like. Even then didn’t realise the scale of it until I got there. The fella on the door said this is the 5th year they’ve held this in Wrexham and it gets bigger every time. Hope they manage to keep it here!

All things being equal, they did a good job. A bigger venue would have helped though.

I hardly think they are going to find enough “not for recycling” bottles to half fill a wheelie bin are they?
If there were that many they’d leave them in the original box and leave a leaflet explaining why they haven’t taken them. After all it would be more effort for the binmen to put them in somebody elses bin than leave them in original box.

Er, no. Apparently not. I was half expecting a certain badly disguised bearded bloke to pop out. He didn’t, and I was lumbered with a half full, or half empty bin depending on your disposition, for another fortnight… I was less than pleased I can tell you…

I’ve had them take everything sometimes and leave random things other times. Guess it depends on their mood?

Yes, until you get home from work, move your wheelie bin back and find it nearly half full of “unsuitable” recyclable bottles, which doesn’t then get emptied for another fortnight. It happened to me a couple of months back.

Cheers for that if you’re reading.

I used to live in Penycae and had to go over 16 sets of the things each way to and from work.

I was advised by a garage to drive one wheel on, one wheel off on alternate sides, slowly obviously. Apparently, when you drive over the middle of some of them, the sloping sides causes the wheels to pull apart slightly, causing strain on suspension bushes and wishbones. I had to replace both sides on a Peugeot I had. Maybe coincidence?

Broadly speaking, people doing a particular job in the public sector tend to get paid comparatively less than if doing the same job in the private sector. Although given the state of things, the gap is narrower than its ever been.

It’s the ones at the top of the pyramid that tend to generate the bad publicity. They appear to avoid any of these freezes/cuts, and then there’s the expenses!

It’s only natural to fight for what you signed up for originally.

So I have complete sympathy for people on the lower pay scales, which is the main group protesting at having pay and conditions slowly eroded. A little here, and a little there, before you know it’s all gone.

I’ve been on both sides, so I can appreciate the frustration. My own included.
