Wrexham seems to be starting to embrace the Olympics, New Wave in Charles Street have hung a flag of the Olympic rings in their window and the Lesotho national flag is flying over Glyndwr as their Olympic team are staying in town.

If they have the Olympic flag up Wrexham trading standards will be along shortly to tell them to remove as they are not authorised to show it unless they have sponsorship permission from the LOGOG lot. Ridiculous isn’t it!

As for a location well there is probably no better place than the field right outside the council buildings.

Chief exec would not allow it as it would be unsightly for them! They banned ball games and are hoping to move the bandstand!

After a bit of previous debate on here about this very topic a temporary(ish) looking electronic 30mph sign appeared by the new roundabout (Abenbury) but has subsequently disappeared again!!

    It’s re-appeared on Smithy Lane!

Could well be due to shop owners not wanting to lose stock in these harder times and being more likely to challenge possible shop lifters. Is there any evidence to suggest the figures are down as a result of police activity or other activity. Surely the figures relate only to reported crime.

Its about times it got a facelift- long overdue. This development has been suggested many times before. As with everything wrexham council do- I’ll believe it when I see it happen.

I see a Chinese investor is already involved. Can only be a good thing to bring jobs in.

And yet the bin men still leave rubbish all over the road. sorry but that is not acceptable.

What you fail to see here is that the binmen may not do a decent job, but where are their managers to let them carry on, and tell old ladies to **** off?
