If there had been a 50mph limit yesterday and the land rover involved in the accident was indeed stationary, the truck would have an extra 50 yards of brake-ing (and if it had anti lock brakes also a possible strategic way to steer it out of the trouble.) It would probably still have hit the car, but very likely the injuries of those concerned would have been alot less.
That is assuming of course that the driver was paying due care and attention, not on mobile phone, fiddling with radio etc. I wasn’t driving the van, so I don’t know what happened. Speed quite possibly was a factor, but cutting speed limits doesn’t necessarily make safer roads. Driver error accounts for an awful lot of accidents.

Good luck- from past coverage of stories its probably inaccurate!
I agree with supporting Kerbcraft. My child has been through the sessions and is now aware of crossing roads etc. They have taught him more than I’d think of, for example look for the white lights on the back of a car and you know if its reversing towards you.
It wasn’t an experience I intend to repeat to often, I wasted 50p on that rubbish :p
Thank you re Kerbcraft (have you signed petition? Petition Save Kerbcraft in Wrexham ) There is a lot more to Kerbcraft than people realise. We don’t just tell them how to cross a road, it’s also about reading what’s going on around you, think Hazard Perception.
Also, the fact your child has told you about the lights shows how much actually goes in and they do retain the info. :)
michellecookParticipantMy brother saw the crash happen, think you’re all jumping to way too many conclusions. Why not wait until the official police investigation is over?
michellecookParticipantThanks Rob, I find that hard to believe, but then Leader brown-nosing, quite possible. Also, there is a picture of what looks to be a professionally produced publication. Are we to believe that was also free?
Perhaps I am just too cynical but the report regarding Kerbcraft cuts was hidden away on P2 and hidden even further on Leaderlive, tried to comment twice but they didn’t appear.

Not the best scans unfortunately. Apparently “second part of this in-depth look will appear next week”
michellecookParticipantI’m off to buy the Leader (I know swear word) a little birdie has just told me Wrexham Council has paid for a 2 page spread boasting about their visions for a safe and healthy community. Anybody seen it? Anybody know how much it would cost for such an article?
You can’t get any more safe and Healthy than a few Kerbcraft sessions

well in that case this committee is responsible…

WCBC: Education, Safeguarding & Well-Being (People) Scrutiny Committee Membershiphard to work out the dept head.
Thank you.
Have also just started Petition Save Kerbcraft in Wrexham

which dept, dept head and councillors are responsible for the cut?
…as if an unthinkable tragedy was to happen they are responsible.
At the moment the details are a bit sketchy, was only announced this morning. The Kerbcraft scheme is currently under the Environment Department based at Abbey Road.
Yes, they will be responsible. I intend to write to as many councillors I possibly can as well as the Chief Executive Helen Patterson . Perhaps if they were to leave their cosy chairs and attend a Kerbcraft session they might think twice.
michellecookParticipantI’ve had mine installed a little under a month. I’m supposed to get around 34 but have had speeds upto 40. I’ve had no disconnections though. I’m with EE.
