I attempted to have a look around here yesterday. I say attempted as I took no more than 10 steps into the shop before turning around and leaving. The shop stunk of rotten fish and there was some sort of cookery demonstration inside the store which filled the place with smoke making it difficult to breathe. Went across to Heron foods instead.

    The lad is 15.

Sadly, this isn’t a surprise. I tried to call 101 about a week previous to this as there were 4 of them on 2 bikes racing down Cefn Rd from Industrial Estate on trial bikes. The way they were driving was seriously erratic with no regard to other road users.

My house wasn’t part of the original installation, we were an afterthought I think. Just noticed on box in kitchen it says installation date 2012, date of next inspection due 2022

I don’t know why because every installation was accompanied with a file which had all the details of each property, the file I have is dated 2009, they are detailed and also include an asbestos report as well as pictures of the property, were you the tenant in 2009, if not that’s why you would not have seen them surveying your house

I’ve been here since 2000 and never had an asbestos check or any kind of survey. We are currently on the list for the new kitchen and bathrooms, they were supposed to come out and do the survey for that in December but we are still waiting.

Is that because it is all going to the Council?

The cynical part of me thinks this may be the case.

Even taking into consideration that prices have risen so expect it to cost more it does seem a bit too much. Roughly £8 per week more on average.

You can add Keepmoat (Liverpool) to that list, they are tasked with carrying out the kitchen and bathroom refits.

The council knew before they started fitting those panels that the roofs were shot, all the houses that had panels fitted were surveyed several years previous, they would have to be assessed to see if they could take the additional load on the roof
i worked on the solar installs and i still have some paper work that gives the dates when the properties were assessed and its a full report, so they knew from day one the state of the properties, its just incompetance again by the council more waste, and thats why public services are being cut because the people behind these schemes have not got a clue what they are doing, they just rush in feet first as per usual.

My house was never assessed  Didn’t even give a start date for work, came home one day to find scaffolding being erected.

To answer one of the earlier questions, no I am not saving whatever absurd amount the council claimed. Infact, I am putting more in

They did the same with a number of houses where they had scaffolding up to insulate and render the houses then a number of months later the scaffolding went back up to replace the roofs. Surely, the two jobs could have been combined.

When we had our solar panels put up, it took them 6 months to come and flick the switch. Still doesn’t seem to make any difference to amount of electricity we are using.

Is this a sign that the Council will not be having a ” Through School” three to sixteen ? Surely they would not be building a new primary school if they were!

This is Wrexham council, they seem to have a habit of creating new buildings then not using them :p

Well, my eldest loves a rummage in your shop, he is autistic and finds some shops a bit overwhelming. He came in a few months ago looking for a specific album, you didn’t have said item but he came away impressed that you took the time to help him search.
