what did you pay for that service? I was charged £10 at hi-speed, seems that going rate is between 6 and 10.

It was a few years ago now, but I think it was around the £6 mark per tyre. I’ve heard of figures between £10 and £12 so £10 doesn’t seem that bad, certainly compared to price of a new tyre.

Since folks are talking about tyre fitting, I can thoroughly recommend AutoKit tyre service,Hightown road (just off the roundabout at the entrance to Eagles Meadow car park.) Have used them for years, excellent service, honest and reliable.

I’ve used them a couple of times, very friendly. Had 2 puncture repairs done once. Boot was full so put one tyre in back of car. Drove away and heard this hissing noise, took it back and they sorted it with no fuss, turned out there was another thorn hidden so technically had 3 puncture repairs.

I don’t think they sell tyres, but I totally agree, I’ve had poor work done by them, they did rectify at their expense but it’s not the point when it’s quite engine critical work.

They tried to flog me tyres when I had my MOT done. Then they also tried to sell me an exhaust part for £150 got the same part from Wrexham Motoring Supplies for £34. Quote for parts and work was almost £400, parts cost me around £120 and took about 30 minutes to fit.

My OH had an exhaust replaced by them and took that back for a re-fit as it was so badly done, I could have fitted it better.

Coincidentally, the guy doing the MOT is mates with the one who owns Ash Tyres.

Has anyone used shitfit wrexham/ I’ve heard bad bad things, but it’s in such a handy place in town?

Used them once, they were OK but very expensive. Unfortunately, at that particular moment, I didn’t have much choice.

Definitely would not recommend Halfords in Pen-Y-Bryn.

My mum has lived near Kelloggs for almost 30 years, we have never noticed a bad smell from there. I worked at Wrexham Lager, I know how badly effluent plants can smell.

My mum lives near Kelloggs and the only smells from there are usually very pleasant, though do make you crave cornflakes with warm milk :).

The smell seemed worse around the junction near the old Redwither pub, which is also where the gas smell was over Christmas.

The fields are soaking and as they are mostly clay it is turning to mud, not being helped by idiots on motorbikes churning the mud up all hours of the day and night.

Sadly, as with everything, greed takes over. Gone are the days where you could visit a charity shop and pick up a genuine bargain. Everything is so overpriced these days. The Salvation Army shop on Regent Street is maybe the exception to this, have managed to pick up some nice kids clothes in there cheap. Kids are happy and Salvation Army gets some pennies, just the way it should be.

I’m a carer for my disabled mum who lives on Wrexham Industrial Estate so I have to travel the 3.5 miles from my house at least twice a day. No buses go anywhere near her house so no other viable option.

It’s not even a fair assumption. Had you checked to see if the hedges contain thorns? Could it have blown from a residents compost heap? Could it have blown from a rose garden? Could it have blown from a council’s kept land? Could it have blown from a resident’s car whilst on the way to the recycling plant? Could it have blown from the green waste truck, Had you travelled anywhere else where there could have been thorns since the last time you checked your tyres, etc? Scientifically, there are too many extraneous variables to call an assumption.

No residents on that stretch, recycling plant did not exist at that point, no green waste truck and no not travelled anywhere else.
