So, are they staying at the site near Sainsbury’s or is that one closing ?

Well, according to a Police blog, there’s no drop in crime, just a drop in reported crimes. People have lost so much faith in the Police and the Crime Prosecution Service that they’re not bothering to report crimes. Unfortunately, it’s playing into Theresa May’s hands and is giving her further ammunition for cuts to the Police Service throughout the UK.

I couldn’t get any further than page 11. I got bogged down in bullsh*t and smugness.

If I decorated my car in the same fashion, do you think NW Police would allow it?

The short answer is no. However, you could probably get away with it if you were a bona fide Security company AND were registered with the SIA (Security Industry Authority).

Just as an aside to this, any person working as a “Security Officer” or Doorman MUST clearly display their SIA licence at all times. (It looks like a credit card, has the licence number, expiry date and a photo of the licenced person, and is usually hung on a lanyard around the neck or worn in a plastic cover on the arm.) Anyone working without displaying a valid licence is committing an offence and so is the person employing them.

These “Security Response Vehicles” have no enhanced right of way when their white, yellow or red lights are flashing.

Why are private security vehicles impersonating police vehicles in Wrexham? index.jpg

It’s not just in Wrexham. They’re appearing all over the UK.

However, they’re not allowed to use Blue Lights.

The only vehicles that are permitted to use them in the UK are

    Police
    H.M. Coastguard
    Fire
    Ambulance
    Human Tissue for Transplant
    Blood Transfusion Service
    Mines rescue
    Mountain rescue
    Lifeboat launching vehicles

Because they can. It’s how they get their thrills. It’s as simple as that.

They have to let the new surface cure for a few days and then they’ll have to white and yellow-line it.

We had a similar experience. We live in a rented property and received the same sort of letter from DVW. However, we’ve put it down to the fact that there are 4 adults living in the house where previously there were only 2.

Funnily enough, we’ve just had the electricity meter reader knocking on the door. He’s the first one we’ve seen in 10 months.
