    AlunH,
I think your idea is the best and most imaginative suggestion to resolve the problems of the Peoples Market and Chester Street in one sweep. This in my opinion would breathe fresh air into that area without a doubt.I also for a long time have thought that there were hidden agendas. With regard to the Management of the Markets,my opinion is that despite what WCB say the Management will never change. The Town Centre Manager has not the experiance to come up with an idea like this.

The Chief Executive of the Council gives the Manager of the Markets the responsibility, but not the necessary AUTHORITY to carry out the tasks of putting the Markets on a better footing. The Markets bring good money into the Council coffers yet there is no re investment back into the Markets.

In my opinion the only way the Sioppa Hoppa would work for Wrexham is if we had a Park and Ride System. As previously alluded to the passengers were mainly old or disabled and therefore non paying passengers. The service needed to bring fare paying visitor passengers from a Park and Ride to have any chance of success.

YES. Too old in his ways and out of date.

I do believe that the Welsh Goverment do give rate relief on premises with a rateable value of less than £6000 but this would not account for the shortfall in Wrexham of £6m on the previous year. What annoys me about the Executive Board meeting on Tuesday is the press and any business owner in Wrexham are not allowed to listen to any proposals that are being put forward by the Council that could, or could not, affect their business in the future. Why this secrecy?

Wayne,I went before the Executive Board and asked a question many years ago about the Markets.I was allowed 3 minutes to make my points and was replied to by the Commercial Estates Manager. The Chairperson thanked me for my visit and requested the Commercial Estates Manager to report back to the Executive Board following a meeting with the Markets Committee. This Executive Board Meeting was on 13th December 2005,and I am STILL awaiting the Commercial Estates Managers Report to the Executive Board.it just never happened.

I may be wrong but I cannot see the business’s in Eagles Meadow contributing £2500 to a project that would take place on the other side of town.If it were in Eagles Meadow it could be different. Also if the Beach does come to town will the Council be handing out tide tables?

There may well have been a feel good factor over the Eisteddfod, but what was the cost of entering the Maes before visitors spent a penny. You do not have to pay to enter Wrexham, only for parking ,which is free for three hours if you use Tesco.
