The Council have not done a bad job.The snow fall is the worst for some 40 years.If they have tickets for Wembley you could not expect them to give that up.With the mass exodus to Wembley the message is last one out put the lights out.

To say in Wrexham you don’t have to pay for parking is misleading.There are only certain times it is free.If you work in the town centre and start at 9 and finish at 5 you will more than likely have to pay.If you are a visitor to the town for more than three hours you will also have to pay.

I agree it is a long walk from behind Tescos to the Town Centre,but the Peoples Market multi storey car park is free in the afternoon from I think 12 noon.
We all have a go at Councillors and rightly so,but should we be looking at the 28 Key Officers earning in excess of £60,000 per annum who are leading them.We can change our Councillor but not a key officer.Are we getting value for money from these officers?I do not understand balance sheets/
accounts in depth,but was amazed at a statement by the Chief Financial Officer to Councillors, that the Council subsidised the running of the Markets.This current year the Markets will provide a return of around £160,000 to Council coffers.Maybe some of these Chief Officers contributions to the running of our community be looked into. Everybody as a Landlord would like the highest rent possible(including WCBC).However the powers of negotiation do enter into the equation.

Is there not a case to petition the Welsh Assembly to abandon Business rates and in some brokered deal, local Authorities refuse to take the equivalent from Central Authority and lay off the Economic Development team. Without paying business rates, you’d soon see Business boom and, accordingly, no need for economic development. Some of the shops in Wrexham now carry £20,000-£50,000 rates payable. No wonder they’re shutting and pricing out local business. Square the circle and see what happens. Leave the cash with the business!!

When I had a stall in the Butchers Market the rates were recharged through the Service Charge account at £14,000 for the whole of the Market,of which my share was £670.Since then the rates have been taken out of the Service Charge and individual stalls rated seperately.This has been done for most markets in the country I believe.As a result of this my old stall now commands a rates quote of £1808
