There was a time when Council employees did have free parking in the Peoples Market long stay area.This practice however according to the Council is not now the case.

I have just re listened to the webcast of the Executive Board .I originally thought that all day parking had been reduced to £2 for all long stay parking from January 2015.However this is not the case,the reduction is only for long stay in the Peoples Market.The Waterworld site long stay remains at £3.The majority of long stay parkers on these sites I presume could be Council staff.Talk about looking after your own flock:confused::eek::)

This is ok for a start.But Wrexham is OPEN FOR BUSINESS the whole year round ,not just for XMAS.They have reduced all day parking,but left the charges the same for the people that are going to shop in the town on a regular basis.The Council have not thought it out AGAIN.

I agree totally with the above.It is just a pity that we cannot find out the revenues from each of the car parks i.e. long stay,1hour tickets ,two hour tickets etc.We could then possibly work out a better system of charges.I am led to believe that the present monthly revenue from car parks has fallen to an average of £60,000 per month.This I believe is a drop in revenue due to the increase in charges.

The Council or trading standards do not do anything about it.Another scenario is shops that have banners saying closing down sale,last five days.You then find the same banners still there two months later.It’s just a con.The Council are too busy to bother.

Charity shops may well attract shoppers,but in my opinion that type of shop attracts browsers looking for second hand bargains.The entrepreneur is looking for buyers not browsers.Charity shops probably do not pay full rent or rates,so have a head start.The variety in Broughton Park (only one phone shop) is far superior to Eagles Meadow and now with M & S new food shop opening shortly the fight gets harder.

Saxon and Pinko o2 I think if you listen to the Council webcast from tonights Planning meeting, and the refusal of the planning officers recommendations by councillors,for the Rhosrobin site.You may find issues that will help your defence.

I do not know how this Plod thread has got on to the bus station,but here goes.When the bus station was originally planned to be built the council received a grant for it of £1 million.Unfortunately at that time the plans fell through,and the council were desperate to now look for another project to fund, in case it lost the grant money.The £1 million was allocated to a new roof for the Butchers Market which was in need of replacement as it was leaking.The roof was replaced but was money ill spent as the new roof leaked worse than the old one.
