I presume the car park behind the Guildhall which is barrier operated on weekdays and is used only for Council staff, will still be only available to Council staff. The only difference will be they will now have to pay. No such thing as not being able to park.

No, it will still be free for top officials and public barred until the weekend. The charges for the weekend are-
Saturday and Sunday only
63 spaces / 4 disabled
0 – 1 hour – £1.00
1 – 3 hours – £1.80

They would only make a few thousand pounds if they had it open to the public in the week. I think it is a small price to pay.

ALSO I think that the comment by sportsboy is not true
“Using the car park to carry out duties is one thing but that privilege is abused by councillors just nipping in to town or even the Welsh pub ( Saith Seren ) FACT .”
If the 63 spaces were only used twice a day would bring in around £50k per year. The obvious change that would have to be made would be to change from short to long stay.

What if a Councillor or Manager cannot park? They would be unable to attend meetings in time. Think about what happened in December. All car park places had gone very quickly and people could not park. If this happened to a Councillor then there would be chaos and an investigation.

If this project would have gone through Scrutiny with all the facts that are known now, were known then, I would be surprised if the project would have got off the ground.
Councillor Hugh Jones brought the project before the Executive Board without having a clue what he was leading us into. Full costs were not known and we were I believe led up the garden path.

It puzzles me that Wrexham Council have cut services etc by £52 million from 2008 and have to cut a further £13 million in the next few years. I personally have not seen any changes to my humble surroundings over those years.

The Council with no bus companies will have to pay less in subsidies.
More people will use their cars to town.
Council put up parking costs.
Council win both ways.
This is a smart Council.
Looking after our needs.
Where do the football coaches park up ?
I do not know. Maybe Wrexham Council will get in contact with the Football Club.
Are you talking about the old Cambrian Yard, off St Giles Way? That is in the ownership of the Council but they are looking for someone to develop it. It would make a good temporary coach park but would require some money spending on it. It also doesn’t provide any facilities for the drivers.
What facilities do drivers need? It is only a stones throw from the High Street. Have an arrangement with The Bank and give drivers a luncheon voucher. We are only talking about 1 or 2 coaches per week at most. Away teams to the football club bring on times possibly 5 coaches. There is no problem with them. Now the Council are dealing with it the problem gets out of proportion.

Looking at the photographs of the buses dropping off tourists/visitors in Wrexham High Street.
The buses belong to Straffords Coaches from Minera. Could it be they are dropping school children off to visit the Parish Church for a service?
I doubt very much if these children will spend £10k in the local economy on their visit.
As regards coach parking, how about the vacant piece of land at the bottom of Town Hill. This has been empty for years.
The Council have been looking for a coach park to my knowledge for the past three years, another three years will not make much difference. There again the number of meetings this problem incurs helps keep some people in a job.

In an e mail to Cllr. Bithell on the Ty Pawb report charging £4 for all day parking, and now the Council reverting to £2.50 all day. The reply was whatever it costs to run Ty Pawb, the Council will support the business case.
Another no brainer is the asking rent for the café area £32,500. On top of this I presume there will be service charges. Presently service charges in the markets are just below the rent levels.

I do not understand , but to me, the recycling % is the amount that does not go to landfill.
If you collect twice or only once per four weeks will not alter the recycling %, the same tonnage of waste will be collected and the same amount recycled.
The Welsh Government targets are based on % recycled. We in Wrexham are hitting those targets.
Get a life Wrexham Council and come up with something positive.
