Well all that legal stuff has me even more confused now. Although the lights along that stretch are a lot less than 200 yds apart. More like 40-50.

Funny too how along all that stretch you only ever see the speed camera van sitting on the bridge above the hill where there are 2 lanes for going up the hill and quite safe to overtake and rarely has incidents on that stretch. Im sure its not because they can park off to one side and obscured by trees so not seen until last minute? Nice pull in either end of bridge for maintenance vehicles they could park in if needed.

Oh I did there was quite a discussion on it and we were told that on single carriageways where national speed limit signs are in place if there are street lights it is 30. She also said it’s regardless of spacing of the lights that is a myth. Several roads in the area were mentioned including this one and she said they would be 30.

I’m surprised 2 posts already mentioned use Halfrauds. I thought it was universally known to be a rip off. The one in Wrexham should be easy to avoid for parts as 200 yds down the road is a motor factors who are significantly cheaper, more knowledgeable and you don’t have the weird car park enforcement guy watching your every move!

Watched it earlier and very surprised Wigan council agreed to that. They have not come out of it well at all. The scheme to reward dog owners for poop scooping was a joke. The binmen need sacking for nog having any common sense. They finish their rounds early, play darts etc or sleep for an hour and a half then moan when bosses want them to do other work in that time.

Council house tenants too were a disgrace, all the improvements done new bathrooms etc should not be done if houses and gardens are looking like rubbish dumps. Council houses I think should be inspected 3 times a year inside and out and if not looked after then benefits stopped or eviction.
I realise that this area is usually extremely busy, even when there’s no roadworks, but surely, with properly controlled management, traffic should still flow relatively smoothly.
Sadly this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Only a few months ago, I was waiting to be picked up by my brother from the Countess of Chester hospital. From the end of the A483 by-pass, where the old roundabout was, to the main entrance of the hospital, took him almost exactly one hour!
A distance of only 4.8 miles.

Loving the quote from today’s press release about being on course to finish by 28th June. No mention of that being 3 months late though!

Well I know something. Now Broughton has the cinema that’s it for Wrexham’s Odeon. Broughton has free easier parking, better restaurants and the added shops if we fancy a wander. New owners of EM need to act fast before the major stores in there pull out never mind the customers.
<em class=”d4pbbc-italic”>There will be no roadworks over the Easter period. Really? I think that translates as “the lane closures and traffic lights will still be in place but we won’t be doing any work”.
Also translates to “We don’t want to be paying our staff double/triple time over the Easter weekend.”

If any garage says you need extra work just thank them get them to do the original job then ask someone to check it out after. 90% of the time it won’t need doing. Brakes and wheel discs are a common one because people panic and think their car is dangerous. As said above mots are best at the likes of council sites where they don’t do repairs.
