Is anything being done about the anti social behaviour outside McDonalds in the evenings?

Yes – McDonalds have now employed their own security personnel and I have arranged officer cover there as well.

Question from Wrexham.com! How have you found using Twitter for appeals? And what is your favourite Twitter hashtag that you have used so far?

Question from Wrexham.com: How has the response been to the PCSO bikes and is it something that will be widened out across the Wrexham area?

I now have 1100 or so followers and a few crimes have been solved from info sent to me via twitter. I like to use Twitter as a crime prevention and community reassurance tool as well (and I also like putting photos on of people who we are, er, escorting in for breakfast!

My fav hashtag so far was about the loos in Brook Street and we were tring to get people to use them, not shop doorways. #weeonawallwakeupinacell

Mixed is I am honest – some people thought it was a waste of money, others thought it was good for community patrols. I know in Smithfield they have gone down particularly well and have actually resulted in arrests.

We’re now opening the forums up to Rhian Jones who is going to talk about the underage drinking campaign for school leavers:

The aim of the campaign is to prevent under age drinking in the County Borough during the summer months . Our aim is to work with partners to raise awareness about alcohol and the law. Operation Levi is underway in the County , Police and PCSO’s will be patrolling hotspots in the County , young people acting in an anti social manner will be dispersed and alcohol will be seized from them and partners will be contact if necessary .
