Captain CParticipantWe formed an action group against this development because we approached by so many residents asking us to. If you feel that you are in favour of it then form an action group to support it and then we will compare numbers.
My comment of 100% against it is based on the FACT that nobody has come up to me and said they are in favour. There were so many people at the meeting at such a short notice because they were horrified that such a development was even being considered and if you were there then you have noted the owners of the chemist and the head teacher from the school.November 18, 2014 at 3:59 pm #70203
BenjaminMParticipantIt has become obvious that there are 3 or 4 of the self appointed leaders (?) of the ‘pressure group’ are posting on this thread without consulting each other, other than giving ‘likes’ to each other. This has resulted in contradictions, untruths and embellishment to a point where it is difficult to know what really is the main thrust of their argument.
I learned a long time ago that if a point needs to be put across, it is eminently sensible for the information to be promulgated by one person, not by all and sundry chipping in with their six pen’orth.
As I stated earlier on in this thread, you need to all start singing from the same hymn sheet, before what little credibility you have, is dissipated completely……..November 18, 2014 at 5:50 pm #70123

Old dogParticipantI have read this thread with interest over the couple of weeks, and Saxon I have to say that you are making many assumptions that ‘ everyone follows me and agrees with me’. That is yet another untruth, many people at the Meeting ( and there were never 400) were there with open minds, and not all were prepared to sign the petition. You are isolating yourself with vague ‘claims’ which you cannot justify.
Thankfully the final decision is likely to be made by persons with some foresight, who recognise the need for progress. If the land is in such bad condition, do you think the developers would be investing in the project?
And if you live across the road from it, be careful your house doesn’t fall into a big hole!
I would say that the majority of householders in your side of the Village are descendents of the people of Llay, who have done reasonably well to improve their standard of living, and the prosperity of the village has definitely grown in the last 40 years. This needs to continue.
Remember, your house was once a field. And to you Captain C, you have not met 1 person who does not agree with you, it must be the thought of spending time in your company! Just an assumption of course, let’s all play.

LlayfaithfulParticipantSo Captain C the owner of Numark Chemist was at the meeting? I thought they were a multinational outfit and I’m almost certain that they would welcome the extra revenue gained via prescriptions and sundries. Another invalid point…..

Aurora24ParticipantI have seen very little in terms of “contradictions, untruths and embellishment”, everyone against this development has posted strong and valid arguments.
The main thrust is the scope and sheer scale of this development. We can all argue until we are blue in the face, but if this development is not phased in 20- 30 houses per build, per year, the consequences to the local area will be significant strain on all amenities and services. Now, without a without a time machine, my point is a merely a projected outcome but all of you must envisage a similar outcome regardless of side. If the build is to go ahead, in the scale projected, then I think everyone in the village will be affected one way or another.
Nobody from the opposing side has offered any evidence to show how development will improve the local economic environment aside from the balance sheets of pub landlords and chip shop owners.

onequestParticipantJust a little reminder to all as yet there is no developer, other than the famer, who is testing the water, and looking at the plans thus far, has not invested greatly in to too much detail, in the hope that he will hit the casinos of vagas somtime soon.
just another point to point out to some of you, who is going to buy these dwellings, take a look around you private houses are not selling, mortgages are increasingly difficult to obtain. house prices once again are in fact falling and we are short of housing nationally, when and if a builder is found they will give Wrexham planning what they want, not what is necessarily good for the village or the people or future of the village, they have there own agendas to meet. But think wisely all remember the 50’s and 60’s and the homes that were built during this era this was there answer to it then and now, history does repeat its self.
There are far more suitable brown belt sites around the Wrexham area which are more suitable for such sites, don,t sell out your green fields just yet, as one day it will be too late.
And for those people who keep asking for fact, I have given you fact. :)November 18, 2014 at 10:11 pm #70204
BenjaminMParticipantFact?
Garbled gobbledygook!November 18, 2014 at 10:48 pm #70424

Numark Chemists are franchises and therefore the two women that were at the meeting are classed as the owners and they stated that they were very much against the development.
