Yet another new shop is opening in the town centre, this time shunning the pound shop theme, opting for the £5 and over approach.

Work was taking place earlier today, with signage in place, for the new ‘Moda Italia’ store which calls itself ‘Britain’s Famous £5 Store’. Wrexham has a range of discount stores, tending to more the 99p / £1 shop market, rather than the more exclusive £5 range.

Earlier this week we wrote about two new independent shops that have opened in town, with several other businesses opening or returning to the town centre.

One further new business appears to be a restaurant in the Overton Arcade, along with a retail section, with a licence application hinting at what the ‘Algarve Restaurant’ will provide.

With a possible Portuguese angle, the request is for the Council to approve the sale of alcohol, live music and late night refreshment until 1am on certain days of the week.
